1. The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Pizzart Pte. Ltd., Singapore ("Pizzart", "we", "us"). They govern the Crux app, crux.quest and related features (the "Service"). By accepting the terms in the app or using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.

Our Privacy Policy describes the data we process. Gameplay and diagnostic analytics form part of the Service and are acknowledged when you accept these terms. We rely on legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Service where permitted, and obtain separate consent where required. You can contact support@pizzartgames.com to exercise applicable privacy rights, including objections.

If you are below the age of majority where you live, your parent or guardian must review and agree to these terms and supervise your use. Use is not permitted where prohibited by law. Players under 13 receive the restricted experience described in our Privacy Policy.

2. The service

Crux offers daily puzzles, archive puzzles and arcade rounds. Some features are free and others require purchases or subscriptions. Crux currently shows no in-game ads.

We may add, modify, rebalance, limit or discontinue modes, features, rewards, content or the Service at our discretion, subject to applicable law. Availability may vary by device, territory, account and release. We may require updates, carry out maintenance or restrict access for operational or security reasons.

The Service relies on networks, stores and servers. We do not guarantee continuous availability, compatibility with every device, or preservation of every score, streak or item. Offline play and syncing are available only where supported.

3. Your account

Crux creates an account with a random player id. You do not need to provide your name or email to begin. Where available, linking Sign in with Apple helps restore progress on another device. Without a linked account, we may be unable to recover progress after device loss or reset.

You have no ownership or property interest in an account. Your account is personal. Do not sell, share or transfer it or use another person's account. Keep your device and linked credentials secure and tell support promptly about suspected unauthorised use. You are responsible for account activity to the extent permitted by law.

Provide accurate age and account information. Names and profile pictures must follow the community rules. We may remove or change content that violates these terms.

4. Coins, gems and other items

Coins, gems, hints, streak freezes, skins and other digital items are "Virtual Items". You may earn them through gameplay or purchase them where offered.

  • You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Virtual Items within the Service. You do not acquire ownership or a property interest.
  • Virtual Items have no cash value. They cannot be redeemed for money, withdrawn, sold or exchanged outside the Service. Transfers are permitted only through features we expressly provide, such as gifts.
  • We may manage, change, rebalance, replace, expire or remove Virtual Items, their availability, prices and earning rules, subject to applicable law. We may correct errors, reverse fraudulent transactions or adjust balances.
  • Access depends on your account and the Service remaining available. Items may be lost when an account is closed or the Service ends. An unlock described as permanent is a one-time entitlement while that content and the Service remain available, rather than a promise of perpetual service.
  • Except where law or the applicable store's rules require otherwise, items are not refundable and we do not owe cash or other compensation for unused, changed or removed Virtual Items.

5. Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to that store's payment terms. The checkout shows the product, price, currency and applicable conditions before you confirm. You are responsible for authorised charges and any applicable taxes. We do not receive payment card details.

We verify purchases before granting entitlements. Delivery can be delayed by store or network issues. Contact support with the transaction id if a verified purchase is missing.

Use Get my past unlocks back in Settings with the store account used to buy. Eligible one-time unlocks and subscriptions may be restored; consumed coin or gem packs are not restored as new purchases. Purchases are unavailable to players under 13.

6. Crux Plus

Where offered, Crux Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription. Available plans, benefits, prices, billing periods and any trial or promotional conditions are shown in the app and store checkout. Availability can vary. We may change benefits or offers subject to applicable law and store rules.

  • Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account under the checkout conditions. A subscription automatically renews for the displayed billing period until cancelled.
  • Trials and offers. If a trial or discounted period is offered, eligibility, length and the price afterwards are shown before purchase. Unless cancelled before the store's deadline, it converts to a paid subscription at the displayed price.
  • Renewal and cancellation. Manage or cancel through your Apple or Google subscription settings. On Apple, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period or trial ends to avoid renewal. On Google Play, cancel before renewal under its displayed rules. Store rules govern the timing of charges and any remaining access.
  • Price changes. Renewal prices may change. Notice and any required approval are handled under applicable law and store rules.
  • Account deletion. Deleting the app or a Crux account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel through the store first. Deleting the account can remove access to its benefits and progress.

See Support for cancellation instructions.

7. Refunds

Except as required by applicable law or store rules, purchases are final and non-refundable. For purchases through Apple or Google, request refunds through the relevant store; its policies govern eligibility and processing. See Support.

Mandatory rights concerning faulty content, withdrawal or refunds remain applicable. For immediately supplied digital content, withdrawal rights may end where the required consent and acknowledgement have been obtained under the applicable purchase flow. These terms alone do not claim that you have given that acknowledgement.

If a transaction is refunded, reversed, cancelled or found to be unauthorised, we may remove associated entitlements or adjust balances. Contact support about a missing or duplicate purchase.

8. Coin stakes

Some modes use virtual coins as entry fees or stakes, or award coins according to results or chance. Coins cannot be cashed out, and these features offer no real-money payout or real-world prize. Access may be restricted by age, location, availability or applicable law.

9. Community rules

These rules apply everywhere players can see each other: display names, profile pictures, chat, Parlor tables, friend invites, test rounds, reports and bug reports.

Be kind

  • No bullying, harassment, threats or encouraging someone to hurt themselves.
  • No hate speech or slurs, and no attacks on people for who they are.
  • No sexual content, and nothing that sexualizes minors.
  • No violent, graphic or shocking content.
  • No sharing anyone's personal information, including your own contact details, with people you do not know.
  • No impersonating other people, Crux staff or public figures, and no misleading names.
  • No spam, scams, advertising or links to other services.
  • Nothing illegal, and nothing that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy.

Play fair

  • No cheating, bots, scripts, modified apps or tools that automate play or read answers.
  • No exploiting bugs for rewards. Please report them instead.
  • No creating extra accounts to farm rewards, referrals or leaderboard positions.
  • No reverse engineering, scraping, or interfering with Crux, its servers or other players, except where the law expressly allows it.
  • No selling or trading accounts or items for real money.

Moderation and reporting

Chat messages and profile pictures are checked automatically before others see them, and something flagged is held back. Our team also reviews reports. We are not obliged to monitor every submission and, to the extent permitted by law, are not responsible for other players' content or conduct. To block a player, tap their name to open their profile. To report one, use Report on their profile or email us. If you think we got a moderation decision wrong, email us.

10. Your content

You are responsible for content you submit, including names, profile pictures, messages, drawings, voice clips, reports and feedback. You confirm you have the rights and permissions needed to submit it and that it complies with these terms.

To the extent you own rights in your submissions, you grant Pizzart a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable, perpetual and irrevocable license to use, host, reproduce, modify, adapt, distribute, display and create works from them in connection with operating, developing, improving and promoting the Service, to the extent permitted by law. You retain any ownership you already have. Personal data remains subject to our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Content shared with other players may be copied or used by them. We are not obliged to keep or publish submissions. We may use feedback and ideas without payment or credit.

11. Our content

Crux, its puzzles, design, code, text, art, sounds and the Crux name and logo belong to Pizzart or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Crux for your own non-commercial play, as these terms allow.

Some content comes from others under their own licenses. For example, Postcards photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licenses, and each credit is shown under the photo and in Settings, Photo credits.

If you believe something in Crux infringes your rights, email us with the details and we will look into it.

12. Suspension and ending

You can stop using the Service at any time. Account deletion tools are described in our Privacy Policy.

To the extent permitted by law, we may remove content, adjust scores or balances, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, or stop providing the Service at our discretion, with or without notice. Reasons may include suspected breaches, cheating, fraud, abuse, legal requirements, security concerns or operational decisions. We may take action without waiting for an investigation to finish.

Termination can remove access to progress, Virtual Items and other account benefits. Except where applicable law or store rules require otherwise, no refund or compensation is due. Store subscription cancellation and refund rules continue to apply; follow the store's cancellation instructions. You may contact support about an account decision.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination continue to apply, including intellectual property, content licenses, payment obligations, liability limits and dispute provisions.

13. App Store terms

If you got Crux from the Apple App Store, these extra terms apply:

  • This agreement is between you and Pizzart, not Apple. Pizzart, not Apple, is responsible for Crux and its content.
  • Your license to use Crux is limited to Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as allowed by the App Store Usage Rules.
  • Apple has no duty to provide maintenance or support for Crux.
  • If Crux fails to meet any warranty that applies, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation for Crux, to the extent the law allows.
  • Pizzart, not Apple, is responsible for handling any claims about Crux, including product liability claims, claims that Crux fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
  • If someone claims Crux infringes their intellectual property, Pizzart, not Apple, is responsible for dealing with it.
  • You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo or named as a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you.

14. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, secure, accurate, error free or free of harmful components, or that defects or lost progress will be corrected.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including network or store outages, natural disasters, government action or third-party service failures.

Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory consumer rights or any warranty that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

15. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pizzart and its service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or punitive losses, including lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill or Virtual Items, arising from use of or inability to use the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service or these terms is limited to the amounts you paid for the Service in the six months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.

These exclusions and limits apply regardless of the legal basis of the claim. They do not exclude liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that applicable law prohibits excluding or limiting. Mandatory consumer protections prevail where applicable.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Pizzart against third-party claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful conduct, infringement of others' rights or breach of these terms. This does not apply to the extent the claim is caused by our own unlawful conduct or where such an obligation is prohibited by law.

16. Governing law

Singapore law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory rights to another forum, the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes relating to these terms or the Service.

If the law of your country gives you consumer protections or a right to bring a claim locally that cannot be waived, those rights remain. Contact support@pizzartgames.com to try to resolve an issue before starting proceedings, without affecting any mandatory rights or deadlines.

17. Changes

We may revise these terms by publishing an updated version and date. Changes take effect as stated in the notice or updated terms. We provide additional notice or request agreement where applicable law requires it. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. Failure to enforce a provision does not waive it. You may not assign these terms without our consent. We may assign our rights and obligations, subject to applicable law. These terms, together with policies and purchase conditions expressly incorporated into them, form the agreement for the Service.
