Guide
Choose a puzzle for the kind of thinking you want
A daily puzzle break does not have to begin with the same game every time. Some puzzles ask you to search your vocabulary; others ask you to work through a set of rules. Crux puts a ton of daily games in one free app with no ads. Here are a few ways to choose where to start.
To test a word, start with Room 5×6
Room 5×6: six tries to find a five-letter word, with feedback after each guess.
To rearrange what is there, try Letter Swap
Letter Swap: trade letters until every row and column spells a word. The crossings matter to more than one word, so read both directions.
To compare meanings, open Quartet
Quartet: sort sixteen words into four groups of four. A word can suggest several connections; find the set of groups that works together.
To reason without words, solve Kings
Kings: one crown in every row, column and region, none touching. Every crown you place rules out other squares. See how to solve Kings.
To travel, play Atlas Streak
Atlas Streak: find countries on the map. It also plays free in your browser.
