# Room 5×6: six tries, five letters

> Learn the word-guessing loop in Room 5×6, a daily puzzle in Crux like Wordle. Read the feedback and choose the next guess, with no daily answer spoilers.

[Room 5×6](https://crux.quest/games/room-5x6/) is a word-guessing puzzle in Crux: find the hidden five-letter word in six tries. Each guess gives feedback that helps you choose the next one. If you play Wordle, you already know the loop; Crux also has [Room 6×7](https://crux.quest/games/room-6x7/) (six letters, seven tries) and [Quad](https://crux.quest/games/quad/) (four words at once).

## Read the feedback before typing again

After a guess, pause long enough to see what changed. Which letters are in the word? Which are in the right place? You do not have to find the answer on the first row; the next guess can help tell the possibilities apart.

## Give every guess a purpose

Before entering a word, ask what it could teach you. It might test letters you have not tried, place a letter you know is in the word, or split two answers that both fit. With rows to spare, exploring pays; near the end, commit.

## Keep alternatives open

A familiar word can arrive so quickly that it feels inevitable. Check that it agrees with every clue on the board: another word may explain the same pattern. If a guess misses, carry its information forward instead of repeating the same assumption.
